Tim kicked off Massachusetts Regionalization Month at a conference in Worcester this morning, discussing opportunities for municipalities to pool together resources and offer shared services to create more efficient, cost-saving solutions.
Following the conference, Tim awarded nearly $8 million to help communities develop shared 911 centers to improve public safety and save money for taxpayers.
From creating regional 911 centers, to starting intercity recycling programs, or sharing services like a local accounting programs, there are a number of successful examples that communities can learn from as they consider regionalizing certain local services that make sense for their community.
