On May 15, Lt. Governor Tim Murray announced a $1.7 million grant for substance abuse programs, and a $534,000 grant for workforce development that will help train 743 workers.

"These funds represent an investment in our future, and will put the commonwealth on a path to achieve immediate and long-term economic growth and vitality," Tim told the Springfield Republican.

Lt. Governor Tim Murray, who has advocated for expanded commuter rail service across the state, delivered a major speech at the statewide rail summit on May 9, outlining the Patrick/Murray administration's rail priorities and blasting CSX for blocking expansion.
